England star John Stones scores safety victory to maintain away day raiders at residence

England World Cup star John Stones has scored a security victory to deter away day raiders.

The former Manchester star has boosted security at his £4m home after winning retrospective planning approval for security fence.

The application was made by his wife Olivia Stones who was keen to beef up security to their home in the wake a number of robberies by the so-called Away Day Robbers.

Defender Stones was caught offside when a neighbour grassed him up to the local council and enforcement officers visited his £4.3million lakeside home.

The 31-year-old applied for retrospective consent but he could have been forced to tear down the unauthorised metal barrier which was put up to boost security and complete a “ring of steel”.

Stones’ luxurious six-bedroom pad boasts an indoor swimming pool and leisure complex, gym, home cinema, games room, media room and landscaped gardens, set in two acres.

The gated, state-of-the-art home also has six reception rooms, five bathrooms, a children’s play room, a triple garage and a separate one-bedroom apartment for guests.

Other footballers who live nearby include Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk, Everton stars Jordan Pickford and Michael Keane, Man Utd ace Mason Mount and United legend Wayne Rooney.

In January Love Island star Maya Jama and her ex boyfriend Manchester City star Ruben Dias were left devastated as a brutal “gang” targeted their £4million mansion in a burglary.

The former Omaze home was raided with expensive items such as jewellery, electronics and clothes swiped by criminals, according to reports.

It is understood that the house was empty due to Maya being in South Africa to film the latest on Love Island All Stars and Dias was playing at Manchester City’s clash with Galatasaray.

The defender returned to his home at 11pm to discover the place had been ransacked so he called 999 to report the emergency.

Man City have seen particular bad luck in regards to this crime – with fellow teammates Jack Grealish, Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez also being targeted by the brutal gang.
