‘Living Nostradamus’ predicts ‘darkish horse’ World Cup winner and the place England will end

The Brazilian psychic correctly predicted the World Cup 2022 finalists, and now, he’s exclusively revealed his top picks for the 2026 World Cup to The Daily Star.

With the FIFA World Cup 2026 kicking off on June 11, there’s only one question on everyone’s lips — which team will be crowned Champions of the World? — and the ‘Living Nostradamus’ has the answer.

39-year-old Brazilian mystic Athos Salomé has been dubbed the ‘Modern Day Living Nostradamus’ by people and in his arsenal of ‘correct’ predictions he claims came true are major world events including the devastating Covid-19 pandemic, the invasion of Ukraine, and the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

The soothsayer has achieved somewhat of a peculiar cult status when it comes to international sports analysis and predictions. While not a conventional sports pundit, he claims to have predicted the precise course of the 2024 Euro Cup, as well as correctly prophesizing that Argentina and France would be the two finalists in the 2022 World Cup held in Qatar.

Now, Athos has exclusively told The Daily Star who his picks for the 2026 World Cup are — and some of the psychic’s top contenders are surprising to say the least.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is being hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada, and will see 48 countries compete for the coveted title.

The ‘fiery’ winner prediction

The parapsychologist says his ‘intuition’ is picking up ‘visions dominated by an unusually vivid and intense sensory palette’.

While the psychic hasn’t outrightly named a champion just yet, he has a strong direction towards which he’s leaning, as he shares: “There is red. A great deal of red or orange.

“I see heavy, deep, dominant colours. Colours of fire. It is an energy of heat, friction and intense force.

“The national sides that survive this tournament will be those wrapped in the colours of flame.”

Athos’ clue appears to be highly suggestive when mapped against the current favourites to lift the 2026 trophy.

Which teams will be the top contenders?

The Brazilian soothsayer has seven teams as his top contenders: Spain, Portugal, Morocco, England, France, Netherlands, and Argentina.

The Spanish side are frontrunning favourites for the 2026 World Cup, with statistics putting the current Euro Champions with a 17% probability of winning the title. As per Athos, “La Roja (The Red) are the literal embodiment” of his vision.

When it comes to Portugal, the psychic says the team is “armed with an elite generation of young talent alongside seasoned veterans”. As for his fiery prediction? Well, the team does have “a primary kit dominated by deep, crimson red”.

A surprising contender on the psychic’s list is Morocco, as he shares: “Morocco have been named as one of the main emerging forces and a potential ‘dark horse’ of the tournament.

“Their kit features bright red and strong green in their identity and primary kit.”

So, what predictions does the ‘Living Nostradamus’ have for England’s future in the World Cup?

“England boasts a highly competitive squad looking to break a decades-long drought. They are historically tied to iconic red away kits during defining moments.”

Calling France a “strong title contender” known for their “raw physical power and unparalleled squad depth”, the psychic has backed up his ‘fiery’ claims as he shares that the “red accents on France’s traditional kit” will bring “maximum friction to the pitch”.

According to the psychic: “The major bookmakers and mathematical models point directly to Spain as the team to beat, followed closely by an exceptionally deep French side and an England squad reaching its peak.”

As for the Netherlands, he says: “Labelled as the ‘Giant Killer’ due to their extremely solid defensive line. Whilst wearing the classic orange, they carry the energy of the ‘strong colours of the flame’”.

Speaking about the defending champions, Argentina, the psychic says: “The reigning World Cup holders; they are defined by remarkable psychological resilience.

“They exhibit pure heat and intensity in terms of team spirit, even though they lack red in their traditional look.”
