The actual purpose Vladimir Putin is sending troops to China is ‘too horrible to ponder’
EXCLUSIVE: Prof Anthony Glees told the Daily Star that Putin is planning to do something horrific if his war in Ukraine remains in a stalemate
Putin sent his top men on a secret mission to China to learn about “biological and chemical warfare”, new confidential documents have revealed. The classified files, seen by investigators, suggest the training was personally signed off on by Vladimir Putin.
They include images of Mad Vlad’s troops being lectured by a Chinese instructor who is standing in front of a model of a nuclear reactor. The Russians were reportedly being taught about “chemical and radiation reconnaissance” and protecting ventilation systems from contamination.
The reasons for Russians learning about the most horrific weapons of war are “too horrible to contemplate”, a world renowned war expert warned. Prof Anthony Glees told the Daily Star Putin will use the weapons in his war on Ukraine.
He said: “This Chinese programme is not ‘defensive’, it’s ‘offensive’. There is only one answer which is, frankly, too horrible to contemplate.
“As Russia’s demented dictator Mad Vlad realises that he’s not only not winning the war in Ukraine, but actively losing it and, in particular, in grave danger of losing Crimea, he may well be planning to fight back against any Ukrainian boots on the ground with chemical, biological or radiological weapons (probably the first two).
“He knows he cannot win in normal combat, and he knows he cannot win a nuclear battle (we would obliterate him if he tried) so that leave illegal but handy CBR weapons.
“He’s in a last ditch position; he cannot ceded Crimea back to Ukraine to where it belongs. He must resist their invasion at any cost and CBR is the price he will pay.”
He added: “What this is also shows is the wicked and destructive role China is playing: bestest chums to Putin, our prime enemy in the world. Not a fit country for us to chum up to, Mr Burnham to note.”
It is estimated 200 Russian man have already received drone warfare training in China, while hundreds of Chinese troops were sent to Russia. Xi Jinping claims his nation is neutral in the Ukraine war and is acting as a “peace mediator”.
But the contents of these top secret documents further stretch the legitimacy of China’s official position. A European official told Reuters that training for such warfare underlined the strategic nature of the exchanges and noted the topic is sensitive for militaries.
“The relevant allegations are entirely unfounded,” China’s foreign ministry said in a statement.
Last month, it was revealed that Brussels had confirmed the training had taken place and that assessments were underway to determine the implications.
EU foreign affairs chief Kaja Kallas said: “We are carefully assessing the implications.” However, China described the reports as “nothing but smears”.
