Aaron Taylor-Johnson, 36, enjoys night time out along with his co-star Riley Keough, 37, in New York whereas spouse Sam Taylor-Johnson, 59, attends Women of the Year awards in London

Aaron Taylor-Johnson and his co-star Riley Keough took their friendship off screen as they grabbed dinner together in New York while filming a new series.

The actors are starring as on-screen lovers in the upcoming limited Netflix series Enigma Variations and appear to have hit it off on set.

After a day of shooting in the city, Aaron, 36, and 37-year-old Riley unwound by enjoying an evening out together strolling the streets of the Big Apple.  

The co-stars looked to be having a good time together as they chatted and laughed during the walk to dinner.

The English actor and the American actress, who is the granddaughter of music icon Elvis Presley, seemed more than happy to swap the filming schedule for a night out.

Riley looked stylish in a cream jacket over her black cardigan and light wash blue jeans, which she styled with black ballet pumps and hoop earrings.

Meanwhile, Aaron opted for a brown leather jacket over a black top with baggy trousers and a pair of white Nike trainers.

While Aaron is busy filming in America, his wife Sam Taylor-Johnson, 59, has been in the UK attending the Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year Awards.

The film-maker and photographer was named Artist of the Year for her bold creative vision and impact across the visual arts. 

During the evening, Sam sported an uncharacteristically daring outfit as she arrived in a pair of revealing green lace shorts.

Enigma Variations has been shooting over the past couple of months and Aaron and the cast were pictured filming a scene in the city back in September.

He was spotted in a passionate clinch with another of his on-screen lovers, actress Sarah Pidgeon, who played Carolyn Bessette in FX’s Love Story, about the romance between her character and JFK Jr.

They were pictured passionately kissing on the street as they filmed scenes for their new series.

Aaron is taking on the lead role of Paul in the limited series adaptation of André Aciman’s novel, which explores his romantic and sexual relationships with both women and men across roughly a decade.

Sarah will play Chloe, who has a recurring connection with Paul and encounters him at different stages, with the relationship becoming a recurring thread in his life.

It is her first role since her Emmy-nominated part as in Love Story and she is the final female character to be cast in the series.

Images from the set gave a glimpse at the intense relationship between the two characters, as they held each other and locked lips on the street in Manhattan.

Sarah was dressed in a velvet paisley jacket with a red fur collar, teamed with tights and a pair of gold slingback heels.
