Aston Villa’s unlikely title charge has gone from strength to strength as they came from behind to beat Chelsea on Saturday evening.
Emi Buendia started out on the left for Villa, leaving the pitch during a triple substitution that saw Olly Watkins introduced to the action just before the hour mark. Watkins was the man of the moment, netting a brace to spin the game on its head.
However, for Buendia, it’s been quite the comeback for the once forgotten man. Buendia sparkled at Norwich before earning a move to Villa in 2021 – however, an ACL injury in 2023 left him on the sidelines.
Buendia suffered an ACL injury in training two days before the start of the 2023/24 season – and he wouldn’t return to action for 465 days.
In his absence, Villa had qualified for the Champions League and Buendia seemed a man of the past – so much so he went out on loan to Bayer Leverkusen.
However, this season, Buendia has been the shinning star of a team that has shot up the table. Villa find themselves third heading into the New Year, three points off the pace setters Arsenal.
And the Argentine winger will have his scorching hot WAG, Claudia, cheering him on throughout the title race.
The blonde bombshell is the better half of Buendia – but not much is known when the two met. Clues from her social media suggest it was before he played for Getafe, way back in 2018.
In that time they have started a family, and they have three kids: sons Thiago (born 2019), Giovanni (born 2021), and a daughter, Chloe (born March 2024).
And while she’s not at games, Claudia loved to showcase her jet-setting lifestyle on social media – sharing snaps from across the globe while wearing designer clothing.
Social media posts over the summer showed the happy couple in Ibiza, while Claudia set tongues wagging with her jaw-dropping physique.
While, in another post, the family had headed back to Buendia’s homeland.
