Sizzling hot
Don’t judge me but I’m madly in love with my partner’s 26-year-old daughter from a previous relationship. She’s staying with us while she looks for her own place.
She and I hook up for secret sex sessions every afternoon while my partner is at work.
Something has awoken inside me that I thought was long dead. I feel sexy, relevant and alive.
All my partner does is nag and tell me that I’m useless. In contrast, her feisty daughter screams that I’m amazing. I can’t tell you how great that makes me feel. Our lovemaking is passionate are sizzling hot. Afterwards we lay in each other’s arms fantasising about a future together.
She listens to me and values my thoughts and opinions, which is so refreshing.
My partner gave birth to her when she was 18. The father lives in Ireland and dips in and out of her life.
She and my partner don’t have the easiest relationship. My partner finds her selfish, loud and too opinionated, but I think she’s wonderful.
In fact, I’d say she’s the most vibrant, exciting and sexy human being I’ve ever met.
The other day she was looking on-line for a flat and said: “Ooh, how do you fancy this one?” Note the use of the word “you”. Was she saying that she wants me to move in with her?
Now my head is all over the place. I thought I had a boring future with my partner all mapped out for me, but now the possibilities seem endless.
Dare I stick my head above the parapet and ask my true love if she wants me full-time? Or do I risk ruining everything by being too bold? I just want to do the right thing.
JANE SAYS: Get your head out of the clouds and your body out of your partner’s daughter’s bed.
The ‘right thing’ involves you severing all sexual ties with your lover and coming to your senses.
What do you think you’re playing at?
While your partner is out at work, you’re being intimate with her daughter.
Presumably you’re lying through your teeth too: After all, what do you say when your partner asks you what you’ve been doing all day? Breeding unicorns? Splitting the atom? Never forget that your partner trusts you to behave yourself whenever her back is turned. I doubt if she’d leave the house if she knew that you were behaving so badly. If you are going through a bad patch with your partner, then you need to sit down with her and discuss that. In short, you must put your house in order. If your long-term relationship isn’t right, then you need to fix it or make plans to move on.
As for your stepdaughter, she needs to understand that you’ve made a terrible mistake in starting, and continuing this affair, and that it must end. Whether she then goes on to tell her mother about it, is out of your hands. Whether YOU tell your partner about it is entirely up to your conscience. But it sounds, as the whole family would benefit from some home truths.
Call me a cynic but, I suspect the only reason your stepdaughter might want to get a flat with you is so that you can pay the deposit, rent and bills…
Deep waters
I’m in too deep with an important client. We’re sleeping together, which is totally against my company’s rules. But I fear that if I don’t give him what he wants that he’ll withdraw his orders and I won’t hit my targets. I don’t even fancy him; I grit my teeth when he strips me naked and pulls me into bed. He’s good looking but he’s heartless and cold. He talks about his wife as if she’s a Queen but then brags about all the prostitutes and lap dancers he pays.
But he does spend a lot of money on our product. My boss keeps warning me not to upset him, but no one knows how much I’m selling my soul. Help.
JANE SAYS: You’re full of self-loathing and regrets – and I’m not surprised. Of course, it’s important that you work hard and reach your targets, but not at the cost of your sanity and sexual health. If you’re not enjoying sex with this man, then tell him that this ends here. If that consequently means that he takes his business elsewhere in future, then so be it. There are always other jobs. You existed before this position, and you’ll go on to rise again and fight another day. Come clean with your boss because it sounds as if you’ve hit rock bottom. You should be protected not exploited.
Talk talk
My cousin has warned me that my Mum has been talking about me behind my back for years.
Apparently, she hates my partner, thinks my children are appalling and can’t stand any of my friends.
I like to host family events and every time I do a big roast or organise a party, my Mum is always the first name on the list.
But she complains to others that I’m a ‘very plain’ cook and that my house is a mess. Now I don’t know if I can ever trust her again. Should I confront her? I have no reason to doubt my cousin.
JANE SAYS: It could be that that your mother is jealous.
If she feels you have it all (relationship, kids, welcoming home) then she might resent you for it.
You’re clearly a sociable person who is loved and valued. Maybe your mother doesn’t like that? Maybe she feels she is not given the respect she is due? She may be your mother, but she’s still a human being.
Speak to her when you’re calm and simply ask if she has a problem with you. Don’t mention the conversation with your cousin but do ask if she’s happy being a part of your life. Is there anything she’d like to say?
Don’t stand so close
I think my mate’s girlfriend is interested in me and I don’t know what to do. Anytime we go to the pub she sits right beside me, so our legs touch. She pushes her chest forward when she speaks and overly compliments everything from my hair to my aftershave. My mate doesn’t notice but I end up very hot under the collar.
JANE SAYS: Make it your business to sit away from this woman because I sense trouble. Either she’s after a fling or she’s trying to make her boyfriend jealous – and neither option is good. Find someone of your own and don’t allow her to embarrass you. I’m sure your mate is fully aware of what is going on. Presumably you have no desire to fall out with him.
