Edible nail varnish launched forward of nervous weeks for music followers
There will be stress this fortnight
Tango have created edible nail varnish to help gig lovers through a nail-biting fortnight as tickets for Oasis and Glastonbury go on sale. The drinks brand’s research says two fifths of Brits and almost half of 18 to 24-year-olds feel nervous when trying to buy sought-after event tickets.
36% say they’ve spent more than two hours in an online ticket queue, while 6% have endured five hours or longer and 2% have even camped overnight for tickets. Tango are aiming to give these ‘nail-biting’ moments an unexpected hit of tang with the launch of a limited-edition edible nail varnish.
They say it’s designed to give nervous ticket hunters something a little tastier to chew on as they face the wait to grab tickets to 2027’s most popular shows. Tango’s research also says four in 10 describe the experience as nerve-racking, with nearly one in five saying ticket day is worse than a first date.
A further one in five say it’s worse than a job interview for nerves and 15% say it’s even worse than meeting the in-laws. More than two fifths are said to use multiple devices or browsers and one in 10 even avoid going to the toilet in a bid to crack the system.
The stress is reportedly quite literally getting under their nails with more than a quarter of 18–24-year-olds admitting they’ve bitten their nails while trying to secure tickets. As well as the Gallagher’s tour due to go on sale this week, the next two weeks see Mariah Carey and Glastonbury on September 25 and October 4 respectively.
Holly Dunnett, from Tango owners Carlsberg Britvic, said: “With some of the biggest tickets up for grabs over the next fortnight, we’re expecting fingernails across the country to take a serious battering. We thought that, if everyone is going to be biting them anyway, we might as well make them taste good.
“Our edible nail varnish is our way of making one of the most nail-biting moments of the year a little more Tango. We can’t promise you’ll get tickets but at least you won’t be left with a sour taste in your mouth.”
They say eager concert goers should head to Tango’s socials (@drinktango) for more information on how to get their hands on a limited-edition bottle of nail varnish.
