Woman sprayed with ‘unknown substance’ whereas pushing pram at Bond Street station

A woman was targeted with an unidentified substance during a racially motivated attack at a Tube station, according to police. The victim was entering Bond Street, a bustling station in Mayfair, with her sister and two young children on October 11 when the assault occurred.

A woman, accompanied by a man and walking ahead of the family, bumped into the family’s pushchair, which was carrying one of the children, around 7.30pm. The man then started hurling racial slurs at them before the woman yanked the victim’s hair.

As she attempted to protect herself, the man brandished a small bottle he claimed contained pepper spray and aimed it at the victim and her family. They were subsequently subjected to abuse and obscene gestures from the woman.

The duo fled the scene before assistance from the British Transport Police (BTP) could be summoned. Although unharmed, the force is trying to determine what substance was sprayed at the family.

A CCTV appeal has now been launched to identify two persons of interest, with officers believing the pair pictured may possess information pertinent to their investigation. The woman is White, of average height and slim build, with long blonde hair, reports MyLondon.

She is dressed in a white blouse under a black knee-length jacket or blazer, paired with black flared leather-style trousers and black shoes. She is also seen carrying a black handbag with a chain strap.

The bloke is also White, tall and of medium build, with greying hair styled into a quiff. He’s donned a white shirt under a navy shacket, paired with khaki or grey trousers and grey suede-style trainers.

He also seems to be sporting a white beaded bracelet on his wrist.
