- Max Verstappen claimed the victory at the Qatar Grand Prix, successfully making it a three-way battle for the championship. His win ensured the Formula 1 World Championship would be decided at the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi.
- Lando Norris endured a difficult weekend described as a “nightmare,” as he was only able to finish fourth in the Grand Prix. He was, however, gifted this crucial position and two extra points after a late error by Kimi Antonelli on the final lap.
- Oscar Piastri finished second, securing a strong podium result for McLaren at the Lusail International Circuit. Piastri had the pace to chase Verstappen but ultimately could not overcome the Red Bull driver for the race win.
- McLaren made a critical strategic error early in the race by opting not to pit both drivers during a lap seven safety car period. This blunder forced both Norris and Piastri to spend the rest of the race battling to recover positions.
- The F1 Drivers World Championship battle is set to go down to the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi. Lando Norris currently holds the championship lead, sitting 16 points ahead of his teammate Piastri and 12 points ahead of Verstappen.
