Sydney Sweeney stuns in ‘bare’ gown pattern – here is tips on how to store the look

It’s Cyber Monday and that means online shops will be flogging products at a discounted price. Fancy jumping on the A-list ‘naked’ dress trend without the Hollywood price tag? We’ve done the work below

Sydney Sweeney, Lily Allen and Chloe Kelly are just a few of the celebrities who have embraced the ‘naked’ dress trend – it’s certainly the most daring look to come out of the fashion world in a while.

Famous faces have left little to the imagination as they braved the chill to go braless in the sheer gowns, with sportswomen and Hollywood actresses all eager to participate. It comes as we explained the trend that has took over the red carpet this season.

But, we all know what happens with fashion that is snapped on the red carpet – it eventually trickles down into our high streets and online shops.

So, if you’re fancying embracing your inner Sweeney, dare to bare like our Kelly Brook and want to dazzle at the Christmas party looking like Alex Scott then we’ve got you covered this Cyber Monday.

We’ve had a scout for ‘naked’ dresses that are more accessible to most of us who can’t afford forking out for specifically tailored designer gowns that cost an arm and a leg.

ASOS

Major online retailer ASOS are full to the brim with party dresses. They’ve got quite a selection of sheer dresses that will certainly be a scene stealer this season.

The ASOS DESIGN capped sleeve textured sheer maxi dress with bodysuit in black features a high neck and integrated bodysuit – so it won’t intentionally expose your nipples like some dresses in the trend do.

However, the stripy mesh material creates a very sexy look by revealing your full legs and bottom. Oh, and there’s also a cut-out back to create some extra sex appeal. The dress from ASOS is priced at £50.

Topshop

This Topshop sheer dress is more for those who want to jump on the ‘naked’ dress trend but want to reserve their modesty a little more.

Topshop has made an epic comeback since it was revived online at ASOS. The iconic high street brand has plenty of ‘It’ girl dresses for this Christmas – including the Topshop layered sheer sequin midi dress in pewter.

The sheer dress combines two trends of the moment – sheer and sequins – to create the ultimate party season look.

Large silver sequins cover the entirety of the mini-dress, with the attached mesh skirt creating a more sultry appeal to the look.

The dress from Topshop is currently half price at £37.50.

House of CB

The fashion brand first opened its doors 15 years ago and made its mark with its sexy bandage dresses. They eventually moved more towards floaty ‘milkmaid’ type gowns – but they’re now bringing the sex appeal back in 2025.

House of CB released a collection of sheer dresses that accentuate the female form, with clever mesh panelling and stretchy material perfect for shaping curves.

The House of CB Safiya black grape maxi dress is dubbed as the “ultra flattering go-to dress this season full of feminine details.”

And that includes the detachable bra, meaning you can make the dress as ‘naked’ as you please. It also features a cut-out back.

The dress is £179.

House of CB seemed to really hit the nail on the head with the ‘naked’ dress trend, without taking it to the extent of what celebrities wear on the red carpet.

That doesn’t mean you can’t look like you’re meant to be in front of the cameras. The House of CB Everly blush mesh maxi dress with bodysuit features a fully mesh skirt that fully reveals your legs and the majority of your bum.

The integrated high-thigh bodysuit also exposes the hips, with the website model’s tattoo appearing pretty much fully visible.

The dress is priced at £179 and also comes in red and black.

Tesco

Even supermarket Tesco are joining in on the fashion fun with their uber-stylish take on the sheer dress. The grocery giant have been proving that they’re a strong contender with their fashion game too – especially with the F&F Strapless Chiffon Hem Dress in Black.

The sleeveless number is a perfect number for party season as it pairs sophisticated and sexy together, without going overboard.

It features a sleek bodice and an attached sheer chiffon skirt that allows your legs to peep through. You might get a bit chilly without a coat, but you’ll certainly look hot!

The dress is £35.

Club L

Club L boast a selection of on-trend occasion wear, meaning they don’t shy away from experimenting with some of the more risqué styles – but with an elevated event-proof twist.

The Club L Koami Black Mesh Long-Sleeve Ruched Maxi Dress With High Split gown pairs both the ‘naked’ and thigh-split trend together to make the ultimate 2025 party season dress.

Penned as the “epitome of chic”, the mesh gown exposes the torso while the inbuilt knickers provide an even cheekier take on the trend.

It also comes with a twisted detail on the hips to create a ‘wrap’ illusion to the dress.

The dress is £75.

Fashion Nova

Fashion Nova became the go-to brand of outfits for ‘baddies’ in the 2010s, with a huge clientele of A-List clients – including Kylie Jenner and Cardi B.

While the ‘naked’ dress trend is supposed to tie sexy and sophistication together, Fashion Nova have of course released their own ‘sassy’ version of the trend. The Fashion Nova Sassy and Sheer Mesh Mini Dress is the perfect option to accentuate – and show off – an hourglass figure.

Curve-hugging is what the American brand does best at – and this leopard print number is no different. The design features animal-patterned panels to create the illusion of an hourglass figure, even if you don’t have one.

Let’s just say the underwear-exposing dress doesn’t leave much to the imagination.

The dress is currently priced at half price for £32.

Ann Summers

Who said that the ‘naked’ dress is just for the red carpet or party season? Ann Summers released their own super sexy spin on the dress that is perfect for the bedroom – or the club if you live life on the edge.

The Ann Summers Glisten sheer mesh high neck racer cut dress in black exposes everything you’re wearing – or not wearing – underneath.

At least the high neck helps you maintain some modesty.

If you want in on the trend and don’t want to break the bank, the dress is currently £11 on ASOS.

The Frolic

Last but not least is this number from brand ‘The Frolic’. The little-heard-of brand is stocked on ASOS and absolutely nails the ‘naked’ dress.

The Frolic exclusive high neck sleeveless hot fix sheer insert maxi dress in burgundy puts the perfect party season twist on the trend as the material also is embellished with diamantes.
