Dean Byrne claims to be a top 0.02% earner on subscription-based website Only Fans and has sparked a backlash online after introducing fans to his son, who he is helping crack the industry
An adult content star has pleaded for his fans to “be kind” after facing a backlash for admitting to filming content – with his own son.
Dean Byrne – who claims to be a top 0.02% OnlyFans earner – posed topless with son Bray, 18, a picture shared on social media and asked fans: “Who you choosing? Me or [Bray]?”
Hunky Dean, 41, later shared a snap of the pair in just their boxers, adding: “Do we look alike?” I have had a lot of questions asking if [Bray] is my son. Yes he is, and he came to me recently saying he wanted to start OF.
“I tried to put him off at first because it can be bad, he was adamant. Please show your support and please be kind.”
The announcement sparked anger online and even suggestions it was a publicity stunt, with one furious follower raging: “Whoever is running your accounts is really brining down your reputation.
“Posting random PPV in DM on OnlyFans for one thing. And now pretending to have a son in porn. Crazy. You were always my favorite of the UK guys and now you’re just like the rest of them.”
Another person wrote: “You must be one sad family. It may have made you a lot of money but never enough to earn respect.”
Someone else commented: “Erm this feels… odd, and kinda wrong to be honest.” Another social media wag quipped: “The OnlyFans nepo babies have arrived!”
Another X user added bluntly: “This is SICK.” Someone else added: “Running OF with you son is just weird.”
Dean later responded to the outrage, sharing photos of him with Bray from their family album, adding: “I’m getting a lot of messages saying that [Bray] isn’t my son and it’s just a marketing technique, well I guess I must have been playing the long game.
“But here’s a few pics. Yes I’m a daddy, and I kept it quiet as i didn’t want him to be part of this life but it’s his decision and I support him 100%.”
Not everyone was disgusted, though. One fan gushed: “The sexy obviously runs through the family!” Another said: “Genetics are on point brother.”
OnlyFans is a subscription content service, thought to have more than 220million registered users and over three million content creators. Sex workers charge monthly fees for access to pictures, videos and more.
But while it is popular for porn, the site isn’t exclusively designed for spicy content and anyone who wants to build up a fan base and charge them for it can set one up and it has become popular with physical fitness experts and musicians.
Celebs like Katie Price and Kerry Katona are popular personalities on the platform. Last year, singer Kate Nash said she thinks she will make more money from selling photos of her bottom on OnlyFans than she will from her concerts.
