  • A strange series of earthquakes has hit the desert near Area 51, causing concern among experts and locals. At least three separate tremors were recorded right next to the world’s most secretive military base.
  • The biggest shake measured a 4.4 magnitude on the official USGS scale, which is quite powerful for that region. This part of the Nevada desert is usually dead silent, so the sudden activity is out of the ordinary.
  • What has people worried is that the primary quake was extremely shallow, hitting just 2.5 miles below the surface. An expert says this depth is a red flag because natural earthquakes usually happen much deeper in the earth’s crust.
  • The early morning rattle was felt by over 100 people, though the actual number is likely much higher. Since the area is packed with secret military staff and contractors, many witnesses are probably staying quiet about what they felt.
  • Top geophysicist Stefan Burns admits the location is a very “unusual” spot for the ground to start moving like this. He pointed out that the data is mysterious enough to raise questions about what is actually going on underground.
  • There are whispers that the tremors might not be natural at all, but actually secret underground nuclear tests. Burns noted that a man-made explosion can look almost identical to a natural earthquake on a sensor if it’s close to the surface.
  • The area is already famous for its explosive history and decades of rumours involving aliens and high-tech weapons. It has also long been a hotspot for testing nuclear delivery systems.
  • The tiny nearby town of Rachel, Nevada, which has only 23 residents, is now on alert over the news. Located on the “Extraterrestrial Highway,” the town’s locals are used to weird events, but the seismic activity has sparked fresh fears.
