Tyson Fury fires warning to Elon Musk as dad John finally joins Twitter

Tyson Fury has issued a strong warning to Elon Musk, after the WBC heavyweight champion of the world announced to his followers that dad John had joined Twitter.

Fury Sr has been an ever-present alongside the Gypsy King throughout his rollercoaster career, and has since taken up a similar role alongside younger son Tommy. The younger Fury brother recently ended his ongoing feud with Jake Paul, defeating the YouTuber in the ring last weekend.

Throughout the war of words that led to last Sunday’s bout, 58-year-old John played a huge role, often taking verbal digs at Paul, whilst also threatening the American ringside after his son’s exhibition bout with Rolly Lambert.

Known for kicking up a storm, John has now been given the chance to have his say on social media after finally creating a Twitter account. The news was confirmed by heavyweight champion son Tyson, who revealed his dad’s new account was made due to ‘popular demand’.

He tweeted: “Due to public demand, allow me to welcome my Dad officially onto twitter: @GypsyJohnFury_.” In the announcement, the 34-year-old even had a warning for Twitter boss Musk, adding: “@elonmusk are you ready!?” Along with a crown and boxing glove emoji.

Following Fury Sr’s Twitter coronation, his fans swooped into the replies and were clearly over the moon to see him setup on the site. One Twitter user – @kiebeattie – labelled John his ‘hero’, tweeting: “My hero is finally on here… Horray!!!!!”

This was not the only love for the 58-year-old though. @StevieeeWx was clearly pleased as he replied: “Class about Time mate.” And similar was also echoed by @RayRayMHM, who commented: “BIG JOHN IN THE HOUSE The godfather.”

If his way of words in press conferences and interviews is anything to go by, Fury Sr is set to make quite the storm on Twitter, and many fans are in agreement. One fan – @AshBradbury1993 – posted: “There’s going to be some fireworks on Twitter now!”

Before @BeccaCrossman quickly added: “Can’t wait for these tweets.” Within hours of being online, the 58-year-old has already lived up to expectations. In one of his first posts, the 58-year-old called out Paul to pay son Tommy for his recent victory, after the pair shook hands on an all-or-nothing bet in the pre-fight press conference.

He said: “Good morning world, Jake Paul and family. Back home, well rested, hence back on business. Jake, you know what I’m gonna do. We had a deal mate, we had a handshake. We said we’d box for free if we got defeated…”
