People baffled after discovering Rishi Sunak ‘doesn’t wear his glasses properly’
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced his crackdown on illegal vapes during a visit to Kent Scientific Services on Tuesday, but onlookers couldn’t help but get distracted after spotting something rather unusual about his glasses.
As Sunak outlined his plans to improve regulation surrounding the marketing of vape products, many noticed that his glasses appeared to be nowhere near his ears, the arms seemingly resting a good inch above where you’d expect.
This awkward wardrobe blunder has prompted a number of curious questions and theories, with some wondering whether the PM had in fact “borrowed them from a child”. Others joked that the glasses looked like a glitch straight out of an AI-generated image.
Taking to Twitter, one baffled person queried: “I know that this is probably the least important aspect of this video, but why don’t his glasses reach to behind his ears?”
Another remarked: “Multi-millionaire Rishi Sunak wears glasses that are too small for him! Or are they some kind of James Bond device to help him ‘repeat the same answer three times’?
A third person tweeted: “An eagle-eyed follower pointed out that Sunak’s glasses don’t reach his ears and now I cannot stop noticing it.”

It would appear however that the odd positioning of Sunak’s glasses could well just be a case of a trick of the light, with a piece of grey hair creating an accidental optical illusion.
As a fourth person suggested: “That’s just a bit of an illusion caused by an errant bit of grey which looks like the curve of the frame, coupled with the low quality of the video. The trousers though, that’s all him.”
A fifth agreed: “I think it’s just a trick of the temples grey and still black sideburns bit combining with the point the glasses go under hair but he does look silly.”
According to Specsavers, the sides of a person’s glasses shouldn’t touch their temples or cheekbones. Glasses wearers should also ensure that the sides don’t curve before meeting the ear, as this may lead to your specs slipping right down your nose.
