Sydney Sweeney has opened up on her favourite footballer, sharing that he is a Manchester United icon, just days after the Hollywood bombshell stunned fans with her ball skills

Sydney Sweeney has shared who is her favourite footballer just days after she stunned fans with her ball skills during a kickabout.
The American actress shocked fans as she dribbled a football with a couple of co-stars after Sporting Lisbon‘s 3-0 win over Estoril on Friday evening. And during her trip to Portugal, the blonde bombshell, 28, also made a surprising revelation about her favourite footballer – a Manchester United icon. And no, it’s not Eric Djemba-Djemba.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is my favourite footballer,” the stunning Hollywood star explained, before adding how she would look up to him if she was a professional. “I’m a competitive person, and if I were a footballer, he would be my inspiration.”

The A-lister went viral over the weekend. In the video, Sydney can be seen juggling the ball and knocking it about with fellow actors Leo Woodall and Matthew Goode.
She showed off some close control before beating Leo for pace when he tried to close her down. Fans lauded her technique – with some joking she better than current footballers on X.
Sporting also shared snaps of her on their own social media channels, with one snap showing Sydney in the arms of Sporting’s mascot Jubas.
And a quick video showed the American being presented with her own personalised shirt.
Sydney was in Lisbon ahead of the filming of her upcoming film, Custom of the Country; the adaptation of Edith Wharton’s classic was announced only last month.
Ronaldo, who starting his career at Sporting Lisbon, has also turned out for Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus and currently plays for Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr.
Since joining Al-Nassr, he has scored 115 goals in 131 appearances in all competitions.
There have been conflicting reports about Ronaldo’s whereabouts since Iranian bombs rained down on the US embassy in Riyadh.
Some outlets suggested he is fled to Madrid in his private jet, but other reports state he wasn’t onboard his jet when it took off.
