Meet Ederson’s seaside babe spouse who’ll cheer on Michael Carrick’s first Man Utd switch

Manchester United are close to signing midfielder Ederson from Atalanta in Michael Carrick’s first transfer, and the Brazilian is set to be joined by his beach babe wife

Manchester United target Ederson has experienced quite the meteoric rise since his move to Europe. Six months at Salernitana were followed by four outstanding years at Atalanta.

Now he’s poised to make a massive leap, from Bergamo to Manchester, and the glare of the Premier League spotlight. United have managed to keep their pursuit of Ederson secretive while they have chased other targets simultaneously.

Throughout this period, it appears they have been happy for those names to become public knowledge. But it’s the 26-year-old who’s destined to become the first fresh face through the entrance at Old Trafford this summer.

United have spent 12 months tracking Ederson’s form and growth in Serie A and the Champions League, conscious that Atalanta president, Antonio Percassi, has become increasingly eager to cash in on Ederson, who will enter the final 12 months of his existing deal next month.

Ederson is set to make the move to Manchester with his wife Myckaela Lobianco and their two children. Not much is known about the midfielder’s love but the Brazilian brunette has 11.8k followers on Instagram and loves to post about her time spent with the United target and their son and daughter.

The two married in 2021, but the couple have been an item since 2019. A year after they started dating, they celebrated the pregnancy of their first daughter. Little Esther was born on the last day of 2020, earlier than expected.

Ederson posted an emotional message when she was born, reading: “The moment finally arrived to meet my little girl. She decided to come on the last day of the year to bring us joy and the feeling of being parents. I’m so happy for this unique and joyful moment. Today our lives change, but for the better.”

Myckaela is a fitness fanatic and has been involved with Ederson in setting up the Silva Gym, named after the midfielder’s surname .

A move to England won’t be completely alien to the family after they enjoyed a break to see the sights of London as they took a stroll around Westminster and down to Buckingham Palace.

Ederson first caught United’s attention after helping Atalanta in securing the Europa League title in 2024.

That season, he clocked up 52 appearances and netted seven goals, proving a formidable, combative, box-to-box force in their midfield.

United’s resolve has remained steadfast. Beyond some glowing scouting reports on a player known for his relentless energy, tenacity and goal-scoring ability, Ederson ticked additional boxes when it became apparent to United that he would fit within their financial constraints.

A potential price tag of £42million appealed to co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe. Undoubtedly, the fact that he currently earns just £25,000-a-week in Italy was also attractive. A move to United would see his weekly wage rise to £75k.

Michael Carrick’s promotion to the position of permanent manager also sped up the process once the United boss had assessed the benefits of a transfer.

Carrick is said to appreciate Ederson’s versatility and doesn’t see him as a direct replacement for Casemiro. He’s comfortable in a defensive midfield role, or further forward on the pitch.

Ederson has never hidden his ambition to challenge himself at one of the world’s top clubs. His long-standing dream has been to make his mark in the Premier League.

Describing his strengths, Ederson stated: “My features are keeping the ball at my feet. I can play both defensive and attacking football. I find it easy to attack the space.”

However, he may encounter a problem upon arrival. Ederson’s preferred number is 13. Unlucky for some, perhaps, but not for him. He requested the No.13 shirt when he transferred to Atalanta from Salernitana in 2022. His wife was born on July 13, and his superstitions are deeply ingrained.

He’ll need to have a chat with Patrick Dorgu, the current holder of the No.13 shirt at Old Trafford, if he wishes to claim it upon his arrival.

Ederson has earned three caps for Brazil, but he didn’t make Carlo Ancelotti’s World Cup squad.

This means he’ll be able to enjoy a full pre-season at United. If he can maintain his upward trajectory at one of the world’s biggest clubs, he can anticipate a return to international duty.
