Westfield Mt Druitt buyers take cowl as knifeman allegedly runs via procuring centre
A 21-year-old man has been arrested after running through a shopping centre while allegedly armed with a knife.
Emergency services were called to Westfield Mt Druitt, in Sydney‘s west, shortly after 2pm on Monday.
Earlier reports had claimed to see a man leaving a unit block in nearby Willmot while carrying weapons about 1pm.
Police attempted to pull over the man’s car but he allegedly failed to stop, triggering a pursuit about 1.35pm.
The car was later found in the shopping centre car park.
Officers arrested the man in the centre’s food court.
An object, which looked like a knife, could be seen by the 21-year-old’s feet.
He was taken into custody at Mount Druitt Police Station.
