‘Irony’ in Harry and Meghan return ‘not possible to disregard’ after ‘nice promise of Megxit’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle returning to the UK is “ironic” given the “great promise of Megxit”, a royal expert has noted. The former working royals made headlines earlier this week when they announced their return to these shores later this month.
They’re set to live in a private, non-royal residence outside London with their kids Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, enrolled to start at a British school in September.
Six years ago, the pair’s controversial move stateside raised eyebrows with one royal expert telling the Daily Star the “experiment” has ended in failure.

“The great promise of Megxit was that Harry and Meghan could have everything they wanted without everything the monarchy demanded of them,” said Kinsey Schofield, host of Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered.
She told this publication: “They wanted the freedom, the money, the celebrity and the global platform without the restrictions and responsibilities. Six years later, we may finally have the answer to whether that proposition was sustainable.”
Schofield added the “irony is impossible to ignore” after “Harry spent years portraying royal life as something from which he needed to escape.”

“Now Britain apparently offers something California cannot,” she said. Queen Elizabeth II refused their original half-in, half-out proposal because she understood that monarchy requires commitment.
“You cannot selectively embrace the parts of royal life that enhance your relevance while rejecting the obligations that give that relevance legitimacy. If Harry and Meghan now find themselves orbiting the monarchy again, her decision looks increasingly vindicated.
“Harry left Britain determined to establish that his value existed independently of the royals. If he is now bringing his family back six years later, I think the experiment has answered that question for him.”
King Charles wase move on Sunday. There are no current plans for either Prince Harry or Meghan to resume their roles as working Royals.
The Sussexes and their children visited the King at his Highgrove home in July this year, but it is understood the move was not discussed.
