Lily Allen will get a KISS from Dakota Johnson as actress seems because the notorious ‘Madeline’ in singer’s SNL efficiency

Lily Allen got a kiss from Dakota Johnson as the actress made a surprise cameo during the singer’s SNL performance of the track Madeline. 

The 40-year-old songstress – who details her split from David Harbour in her new album West End Girl which dropped in October – was concluding the song when Johnson made her appearance as the infamous Madeline. 

The tune is found on Allen’s latest LP where she also references to Harbour’s affair – seemingly naming his mistress ‘Madeline,’ although it is believed to be a pseudonym.

At the very end of the track, Madeline offers her side of the story – which was read out by Johnson as she initially remained hidden behind curtains on the stage. 

‘I hate that you’re in so much pain right now. I really don’t wanna be the cause of any upset. He told me that you were aware this was going on and that he had your full consent.’

The actress continued, ‘If he’s lying about that, then please let me know. Because I have my own feelings about dishonesty. Lies are not something that I wanna get caught up in.’

Johnson then added, ‘You can reach out to me any time, by the way. If you need any more details or you just need to vent or anything.’

The Fifty Shades Of Grey star then stepped out from behind the curtains to stand directly behind Allen. 

A few audience members could be heard cheering upon recognizing the actress as she placed her hands on the singer’s shoulders.

‘Love and light, Madeline,’ Johnson said before tilting her head to lay a kiss on Allen’s cheek. 

The two stars then fell into an embrace as the crowd erupted into applause following the end of the performance. 

Social media users quickly jumped over to X to share their thoughts after Johnson’s surprise cameo. 

One penned, ‘OMG Dakota Johnson as Madeline was the surprise we didn’t know we needed! Iconic cameo.’ 

Another typed, ‘Nice surprise,’ while a fan wrote, ‘Lily Allen having Dakota Johnson appear as Madeline for her performance was genius.’ 

‘Dakota killing it as Madeline perfect surprise,’ one said, while another commented, ‘Dakota as Madeline, iconic!’ 

An X user shared, ‘Wait… Dakota Johnson just showed up on SNL? Didn’t see that coming.’ 

‘That cameo was smooth and lowkey iconic. dakota popping up like that just elevated the whole vibe,’ a fan also said, and one typed, ‘Woow love this.’ 

Allen also referenced to ‘Madeline’ in another song on her latest album titled Tennis. 

At one point, she could be heard singing, ‘So I read your texts/And now I regret it/I can’t get my head ’round how you’ve been playing tennis

‘If it was just sex/I wouldn’t be jealous/You won’t play with me/And who’s Madeline?’

During an interview with The Times, the songstress explained that Madeline in both tracks is a ‘fictional character.’ 

Allen further explained of the lyrics, ‘I don’t think I could say it’s all true. I have artistic license. But yes, there are definitely things I experienced within my relationship that have ended up on this album.’

Allen began dating Harbour back in 2019 after the pair met on the dating app Raya – and they tied the knot the following year in Las Vegas. 

However, the former couple split after the songstress discovered his three-year affair and allegedly found his profile on Raya. 

‘David cheated on Lily,’ a source told the Daily Mail earlier this year. ‘They met on a movie they did together.’ 

The insider – who had witnessed Harbour’s interactions with his colleague – also said, ‘They weren’t very secretive about their relationship.’

The source added that the actor had flown the woman ‘to Atlanta while he shot Stranger Things to keep him company.’ 

Allen references to the end of her marriage in her album West End Girl – which dropped a few months earlier in October. 

When it came to penning the lyrics to tracks, she explained on CBS Mornings last month, ‘At the time I wasn’t even really thinking about it as, like, a commercial endeavor. It was an act of desperation, actually.’

She also explained, ‘I think I was trying to tell a story and to process things, and there were things that, you know, had been going on in my life that I knew would suit a record like this. 

‘I knew those emotional beats that I wanted to hit in terms of the narrative, and I had ideas for titles for those things.’ 

Allen is slated to embark on her West End Girl tour next year – which is set to kick off in March 2026 in Glasgow. 

Concerts will officially conclude later on July 7, 2026 at the O2 Arena in London. 

During her SNL appearance as a musical guest on the latest episode, Allen additionally performed the song Sleepwalking – also found on her West End Girl album. 

The star donned a pastel green, romper nightgown as she belted out emotional lyrics on a bedroom set. 

She also opted for a vintage-inspired hairstyle as her dark locks fell down past her shoulders in voluminous waves.  

‘You won’t love me, you won’t leave me/You don’t touch me, still so needy/And I don’t know if you do it intentionally,’ she sang. ‘Somehow you make it my fault/You don’t stop talking/And I’m just sleepwalking.’
